The village of Kamenica nad Cirochou is located in the area between Humenný and Snina, 8 km east of Humenný. It is adjacent to the village of Modra nad Cirochou in the east, Hažín nad Cirochou in the west, and Kamienka in the southwest. On the southern side, the Vihorlat mountain range stretches above the village. The Cirocha river flows from the north side near the village, which originates near Rusko and flows into Laborac near Humenno. The surface of the village is slightly divided, passing in the south to the Vihorlat Mountains, which are of volcanic origin with an altitude of with a height of 1074 m. The Kamenica stream flows through the center of the village, which drains water from the northern slopes of Vihorlat to Cirocha. During the melting of the snow, it floods heavily. A stream called Ríka springs up above the neighboring village of Kamienka, which also flows into Cirocha.
Originally, the village did not stand in that place as it is now, but was moved much further to the Ciroche river. Probably due to frequent floods, its inhabitants had to move more to the northern slopes of Vihorlat, in order to avoid further floods. The remains of the foundations of the old tavern bear witness to this.
Currently, the village of Kamenica nad Cirochou has 2304 inhabitants. In addition to carrying out investment actions, the municipality also pays attention to the services provided for its citizens.
