SACAA Validations<\/h1>\n

The South African Civil Aviation Authority has introduced a \u201c28 DAY VALIDATION OF FOREIGN PILOTS LICENCES FOR PRIVATE DAY VFR FLYING I <\/em>RECREATIONAL FLYING (PART 61, 62, 68 AND 69).<\/strong><\/p>\n

All competitors are encouraged to take advantage of this relaxed requirement.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Requirements for application:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Submit request 60 days prior to arrival, to afford enough time to verify licence with country of issue.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. Letter confirming date of arrival and departure and details of aircraft to be used.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. Receive a briefing covering local radio procedures, Air Law aspects, airspaces and density altitude.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  4. Carry out a Competency Check with a Gr I, Gr II Flight instructor or DFE.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  5. Certified copies of<\/u> (a) valid foreign licence, (b) valid foreign medical, (c) valid passport.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  6. Certified copies of<\/u> logbook (last three pages \u2013 inclusive of competency check endorsement).<\/strong><\/li>\n
  7. Application fee as per Part 187. (R 480,00) (TBC)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
